Itinerary
The journey begins early in the morning as riders depart from Kathmandu, heading west towards Bardiya National Park. This long ride takes approximately 13 hours, traversing through scenic hills and valleys. Riders will experience a mix of bustling towns and serene countryside before reaching Bardiya, where they can unwind and prepare for the next leg of their journey.
On the second day, the route leads from Bardiya to Haridwar, a significant pilgrimage city located on the banks of the Ganges River. This stretch covers about 468 km and takes around 10 hours. As riders cross the border into India, they will witness changes in landscape and culture. Arriving in Haridwar in the evening allows for a visit to the famous Ganga Aarti ceremony at Har Ki Pauri, providing a spiritual start to the trip.
The following day involves a ride to Barkot, which is approximately 220 km away and takes about 7 hours. The route is scenic, with views of the surrounding mountains and rivers. Barkot serves as a base for the trek to Yamunotri, allowing riders to rest before continuing their pilgrimage.
On this day, riders will cover a short distance of 36 km by road to Janki Chatti, followed by a 7 km trek to Yamunotri Temple. This sacred site is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and is located at an altitude of 3,293 meters. The trek offers stunning views of the Himalayas and lush landscapes.
After visiting Yamunotri, riders return to Barkot and then head towards Uttarkashi. This leg of the journey covers about 100 km in approximately 4 hours. Uttarkashi is known for its temples and proximity to the Bhagirathi River, providing a peaceful environment for relaxation.
The next destination is Gangotri, another important pilgrimage site dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The ride from Uttarkashi takes about 4 hours over a distance of 100 km. Upon arrival, riders can visit the Gangotri Temple and enjoy the serene surroundings of this holy site.
Continuing on their journey, riders will travel from Uttarkashi to Rudraprayag. This stretch covers around 180 km and takes approximately 8 hours. Rudraprayag is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers and serves as a gateway to Kedarnath.
On this day, riders will drive about 74 km towards Gaurikund before embarking on a challenging trek of approximately 20 km to reach Kedarnath Temple. Located at an altitude of 3,583 meters, Kedarnath is one of the most revered sites dedicated to Lord Shiva.
After visiting Kedarnath, riders will return via Gaurikund and head towards Badrinath. This journey covers about 160 km in around 7 hours. Badrinath Temple is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
The ride continues from Badrinath to Rishikesh, covering approximately 297 km over about 11 hours. Rishikesh is known as the "Yoga Capital of the World" and offers numerous opportunities for relaxation and spiritual exploration along the banks of the Ganges.
Leaving Rishikesh behind, riders will make their way back towards Bardiya with a distance of around 481 km ahead of them.
Finally, on the last day of this epic journey, riders will return from Bardiya back to Kathmandu covering another distance of approximately 540 km. This marks the end of an unforgettable pilgrimage that combines adventure with spirituality across some of India's most sacred sites.
